Solitaire Engagement Rings

We have seen a HUGE increase in popularity of solitaire rings in the past few years. Why? We feel that most brides are looking for a larger center diamond, and are more willing to compromise on engagement ring details in order to achieve that "big rock" look. Solitaire engagement rings are characterized by their plain metal, no diamond detail sides (or shank). The lack of details on the actual ring part makes the center diamond the focal point of the ring. Below are some great examples of solitaire rings at Moyer.

Straight or Classic Engagement Rings

This style is arguably one of the most broad and most popular style categories of engagement rings. The straight or classic engagement ring style is defined by having diamonds on the side, or shank, of the ring. That being said, the ring could be tapered, have multiple rows of diamonds, graduated diamonds or pave set and still be in this overarching straight or classic style grouping. Halo Engagement Rings

One of the most easily recognizable styles is the halo engagement ring. A halo is characterized by smaller diamonds surrounding the main, center diamond. The "halo" is utilized to make the center stone look bigger in most rings, which is why the center diamond should fit perfectly into the halo with no air or gaps between the two. Halos can actually be part of another style as well such as three-stone, straight, or solitaire. Below are some examples of engagement rings with halos.

Three-Stone Engagement Rings

Perhaps one of the most regal, elegant looking engagement ring styles is the three-stone engagement ring. The only requirement for a ring of this style is to have- you guessed it- three gemstones. We have an incredible selection of various three-stone rings at Moyer showcasing everything from three round brilliant diamonds, an oval center framed with pear shape side stones, a round brilliant center with tapered baguette side stones, and three emerald cut diamonds. These three-stone engagement rings can be designed with or without a diamond halo around the diamonds or with or without diamonds on the shank. The vintage look is certainly making a come-back as it's one of the most frequently searched engagement ring styles in the Indianapolis area.
