Another feature is the Double Moon™ indication at 12 o’clock, which shows the moon phase as seen from the Northern and Southern hemispheres and will only deviate by one day after 125 years. The display has been enhanced to show spring and neap tides, indicating the strength of the current tides. The black dial is made in an intricate process comprising 60 individual steps. Thanks to the application of 15 layers of transparent lacquer, it emanates tremendous visual depth. The watch features a polished stainless steel case with a diameter of 44.6 millimetres and rhodium-plated hands and appliques. The transparent sapphire glass case back showcases the IWC-manufactured 82836 caliber with a Pellaton automatic winding system and ceramic components.
